"I Wasn't Going To Let The System Raise My Children" w/ Jacqueline Anderson

Jacqueline Anderson is the Founder and Principal of Diamonds In The Rough Tuition Centre, alternative provision supporting children with SEND and parents through Education and Advocacy.

In this powerful and educational episode of The Social Corner, Jacqueline opens up about growing up with undiagnosed autistic traits, and later, navigating the education system as a Black mother of a son with Autism. When traditional schooling failed to support him, she became his strongest advocate, diving deep into understanding his diagnosis, championing his needs, and creating a plan that helped him thrive.

That journey led her to found Diamonds In The Rough CIC, a tuition centre and alternative provision supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), especially those from global majority communities.

This is a story about what happens when parents step up, when systems fall short, and how one woman is building something better for our future.
